Ekumal's Future Projects: Regeneration, Expansion & Ecological Stewardship

Ekumal was never envisioned as a single destination. It was designed as a living prototype — a model for how land can be preserved, regenerated, and inhabited responsibly. As biodiversity across the region continues to face pressure from overdevelopment, our long-term vision extends beyond one sanctuary. Future initiatives focus on protecting additional natural areas, expanding regenerative building systems, and strengthening ecological corridors so that conservation and conscious design can coexist. This is not expansion for scale — it is expansion for stewardship.
Land Preservation

One of our most important goals is to protect and conserve 1,300 hectares of land in the jungle of Akumal, safeguarding its biodiversity and wildlife. By uniting global collaborators, we aim to restore balance between humanity and the natural world by blending ancient conservation practices with modern financial tools such as NFTs and crypto.
To achieve this, we plan to establish a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) that enables investors to participate in land preservation through the purchase of NFTs representing subdivided portions of the land. Unlike purely digital assets, these NFTs are directly tied to real land in need of protection, allowing value to manifest in tangible environmental impact.
Our long-term vision is to donate the preserved land to UNESCO, maintaining it as a protected natural reserve and future World Heritage site. Approximately 2% of the land will be reserved for essential infrastructure such as access roads, fire prevention, observatories, and small-scale syntropic agroforestry to grow organic food—creating a living model for a regenerative future.
Calakmul

Calakmul is one of the most critical regions for the protection, conservation, and repopulation of the UMA jaguar population. It is also a major center for honey production, which plays a vital role in sustaining the local economy. As one of the most intact and well-preserved ecosystems in the region, Calakmul supports extraordinary biodiversity alongside a stronghold for jaguar conservation. Our goal is to acquire a minimum of 10,000 hectares of protected land to establish a thriving habitat dedicated to the long-term conservation and reproduction of the jaguar.
The Communities

This project is designed to create meaningful, long-term benefits for surrounding communities through environmental education, conservation, and responsible tourism development.
We will provide structured employment and training through the eco-center, hospitality operations, and guided experiences, prioritizing local residents for all job opportunities. Additional income will be generated through sustainable honey and beeswax production, strengthening the regional economy.
The plan also includes a self-sufficient water system to provide potable water for the community, as well as an eco-center that serves as an educational hub focused on ecological awareness and future generations. If successful, this pilot program can expand to support additional communities, integrating innovative technologies that promote lasting social and environmental sustainability.
